Identosphere 130: MSFT/LinkedIn Verifiable employment • DID Rechartering Disagreement • Decentralized-ID.com Updates
For over two years we've been aggregating news related to decentralized identity and delivered it directly to your inboxes. Now we have begun integrate this body of work into decentralized-id.com
Welcome to Identosphere - We Gather, You Read
Lots of exciting developments happening around here, behind the scenes!
For some months we’ve been working out a system to begin integrating these news items into decentralized-id.com while improving the usability and extensibility of that site, and the content its built from.
If you visit the homepage you will notice that its now organized by tags, sorted into sections, facilitating the users ability to find information on topics they are interested.
Moreover we’ve updated most of the company pages, added some 400 items from this newsletter to those pages, and introduced 11 additional companies to the web-directory: ValidatedID, Spruce Systems, Spherity, MyDex, Mattereum, Magic Labs, Lissi, Indicio, IDRamp, GlobalID, and Gattaca.
Besides simply adding content and tweaking the home-page, those company pages are now generated from a spreadsheet, which will greatly enhance our ability to display that content according to its associated attributes, rather than a primarily organizational based structure.
There is quite a lot more to discuss, regarding these updates, and lots more coming down the pipes. Stay tuned for upcoming blog-posts that will go into further detail, and share some exciting news.
Please Contribute to our efforts by PayPal, or Patreon! We’ll keep aggregating industry info.

Components of the Digitalisation Journey of International Trade and Finance Ubisecure
The legal reforms such as the UK’s Electronic Trade Documents Bill allows for certain trade documents to be digital, such as bills of lading, bills of exchange, promissory notes, warehouse receipts, and insurance documents. These currently must be on paper and physically possessed. Under the Bill, digital trade documents – in other words, trade data – will be on the same legal footing as their paper-based equivalents.

Fighting for Consensus at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
Serious Conversation about the DID rechartering process
I am appealing on five points, all of which highlight the chairs’ failure to with respect to W3C Process.
The PRs lacked consensus
Consensus was not legitimately sought
Claims of “W3C Consensus” are erroneous, out of scope, and irrelevant
This sets a untenable precedent
Proposals with the weakest objection should be favored

Too often when we discuss decentralized identity the focus is on these verifiable credentials, which is not unwarranted [...] but it is important to remember that, just like the internet, they are a means to an end, not the end.
