Relationships are Entangled 2024-04-18 Phil Windley
People aren't digitally embodied. As a result their online relationships are anemic. As we think about the kinds of digital identity systems that will help people live authentic online lives, we must build identity system that give people tools to operationalize rich digital relationships.

Simple SSI 2024-04-14 FutureForg
I’ve begun an effort I call “Simple SSI.” My goal for Simple SSI is to champion SSI code that favors these principles:
Uses spec terminology faithfully
Favors a declarative approach
Includes self-documenting tests
Has clear, short, and up-to-date documentation
Produces easy-to-install, reliable artifacts that are readily available
Produces broadly compatible artifacts

[github] OpenIDIDComm 2024-04-12 IDUnion
The OpenID4VCI and OpenID4VP specifications define protocols for issuance and verification of Verifiable Credentials between Issuer, Wallet, and Verifier extending the commonly used OAuth 2.0 protocol. Currently the two OpenID4VCI/VP-Protocols are missing a feature to enable future communication between the involved parties. To add this feature to the OpenID4VCI/VP-Protocols we want to utilize DIDComm, a transport agnostic messaging protocol based on Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs). Therefore, the goal of this work is to write an extension for the two OpenID4VCI/VP-Protocols that additionally allows the creation of a DIDComm channel for future communication.

[twitter] SSH is a beautiful network protocol with a lot of untapped potential 2024-04-14 Millie

Decentralized RAG 101 with OriginTrail DKG and Google Gemini 2024-04-22
Knowledge Graphs — structural knowledge in knowledge graphs allows a hybrid of neural and symbolic AI methodologies, enhancing the GenAI models with deterministic inputs.
Ownership — dRAG uses input from Knowledge Assets that have an owner that can manage access to the data contained in the Knowledge Asset.
Verifiability — every piece of knowledge on the DKG has cryptographic proofs published ensuring that no tampering has occurred since it was published.

Web 2.0 is Collapsing Under its Own Weight Phil Windley
The overhead of performing even simple tasks online is getting larger and larger. I question the security of almost all these supposedly "secure" messaging systems. And I'm tired of the 'Utopia of Rules' mindset pervasive in every organization. It's exhausting how they expect customers to constantly adapt to their needs.
