Where the W3C Verifiable Credentials meets the ISO 18013–5 Mobile Driving License
This project produced by Kaliya’s consultancy with Lucy Yang and Sponsored by Spruce will be focused on:
Enabling a bigger ecosystem of players to take advantage of mobile driving licenses by making sure the VCs are a viable alternative for implementers to the ISO 18013–5 standard, and are compatible to the fullest extent possible of the outputs of ISO working groups.
Giving both VC and mDL wallet vendors equal opportunity to compete and providing users with options by urging the open-up of privileged, internal APIs for all wallet vendors and developers.
The first phase of the project will focus on gathering input from stakeholders who are working in the areas where these two standards overlap. The goal is to come up with a list of recommendations to foster greater alignment between the two efforts.

Response to Kailiya’s post on AnnonCreds
A response to Identity Woman's recent blog post about Anoncreds Kyle Den Hartog
It’s only when I started to take a step back that I realized that the architecture of Indy being a private, permissioned ledger leaves it heading in the same direction as many large corporations now extinct browser and intranet projects for many of the same reasons.
Moving Toward Identity Technology Ready for Mass Adoption
when we realized our customers were facing critical limitations caused by the underlying tech stack, we began developing an updated version of our platform that would reduce our dependency on these technologies and enable a better platform for our customers.
Response to Kaliya’s “Being Real” Post by Daniel Hardman
The post surfaces an important topic and contains some truth worth telling. I salute Kaliya for that, and for the honorable intentions behind her writing. However, the post also contains some factual errors, and its narrative both assumes and invites conclusions that I consider unjustified.
Kai @Kai_dentity Replying to @IdentityWoman
Great overview @IdentityWoman It matches with many conversations we had in the community in recent years, as well as observations we made ourselves at @GETJolocom. I hope it will help to make these issues more widely discussed and hopefully get them addressed.
Tim Bouma @trbouma Replying to @IdentityWoman
Excellent post. No matter how great a tech or framework is, I am always on the lookout for its Achilles’ heel.
Explainer
Making Identity Easy for Everyone - Heather Flanagan, Spherical Cow Consulting Ubisecure
how to explain digital identity to people outside of the identity industry, why is it important for everyone to understand, and what the industry can do to improve the understanding of identity for everyone.
Trust Registries in the Real World Continuum Loop
Trust Registries allow us to know that the various shared credentials (e.g. proof of insurance) are accurate. A Homeowner can ask their Digital Wallet to verify an insurance Credential that the Contractor is honest.
Many articles are being written about SSI, not all so excellent John Philip
Most are probably not "written" in the normally understood sense of the word (auto-scraping and ctrl-c and ctrl-v isn't writing). Many are probably not written by a person at all.

GlobaliD 101: Bring Your Own Identity
There is a real opportunity to combine technology that is being developed with the concept of BYO Identity that will create a new identity framework where you own and control your data.

• Part 2: The Trust Triangle — the system of issuers, holders, and verifiers that illustrates how identity works (and how it’s broken, today)

NSSIA: A New Self-Sovereign Identity Scheme with Accountability
a few SSI schemes introduce accountability mechanisms, but they sacrifice users’ privacy. In addition, the digital identities (static strings or updatable chains) in the existing SSI schemes are as inputs to a third-party executable program (mobile app, smart contract, etc.) to achieve identity reading, storing and proving, and users’ self-sovereignty are weakened. To solve the above problems, we present a new self-sovereign identity scheme to strike a balance between privacy and accountability
Culture
Creating a culture of recognition
Pro-social behaviours are those intended to benefit others, or society as a whole — for example, helping, sharing, donating, co-operating, and volunteering. Within a community, they’re the behaviours that make it an attractive space to belong to, and which encourage its growth and/or development. It’s a central part of the value cycles that underpin the Communities of Practice model.

Sanctions Should Target Bad Actors. Not Technology. Coinbase
Tl;dr: Coinbase is funding a lawsuit brought by six people challenging the US Treasury Department’s sanctions of the Tornado Cash smart contracts and asking the Court to remove them from the U.S. sanctions list. The lawsuit explains that OFAC exceeded its authority from Congress and the President in sanctioning open source technology, rather than sanctioning the bad actors who used it or the property of those bad actors.
